Mr C ~*8 weeks new*~

If you’ve ever contacted a professional photographer to inquire about newborn photos, you likely received a response about the photos being done between 4-12 days of life.  There are multiple reasons for this which include they typically sleep better and can be posed into those adorable poses you see and love.  And so it is not often that I see babies who are between 1 month and 5 months.  When I scheduled Mr C in, mom wanted some detail shots and shots with her.  She and I both hoped for some “sleepy shots” but would go with the flow of the session.  Mr C had big beautiful eyes, which I got to see for the first half of the session.  Mom and baby both had some adorable moments together, both big smiles and bright eyes.  I even got lots of smiles! Mom said I seemed to be able to get the most smiles from him out of anyone so far 🙂
And then little Mr had a “snack” and went right to sleep! And we got our sleepy shots! He was so chubby and cute and I loved his session!
I forgot how quickly they grow.  That is, until I placed him on my newborn bed.  It really showed me how much these sweet little ones grow in just 2 short months!

And mom and I have something in common: we’re both Registered Veterinary Technicians and we even were in school together 0(although a year apart).  How cool!

As an updated note, receiving a message or email from parents after a session is one of the most exciting and heartwarming times.
When I hear about a family loving their photos it brings the biggest smile to not only my face but my heart!  I’m human, just as we all are, and of course always have a moment of apprehension or anxiety “Will they love their photos?”.  Just because we’re professionals or we do this “all the time” doesn’t mean we’re excluded from the fear of rejection or immune to the potential of rejection!  And so we love, I love, getting emails like this:

Clarissa
OMG!  These pictures are gorgeous!  Thanks so much as they are beautiful and so perfect.  I’m so glad I found you and that I decided to have the pics done even though he was 8 weeks.  I got my sleeply shots, mom and baby shots and baby shots.

Thanks once again
X

Happy 1st Birthday Mr J!

I feel like it’s been a while since I had a one year old in the studio so I was excited to see Mr J.  And although the outfits and hats mom and dad brought were ADORABLE, Mr J was even MORE adorable! How is it possible for one little guy to be so cute? It took all of 90 seconds for him to warm up to me and start giving me sweet smiles. And he was so full of character.  And since it took all of 90 seconds, it also took all of 90 seconds before he started moving around to explore everything! I totally miss this busy, exploring, wonder-filled age!
And it just wouldn’t be right if I didn’t mention how beautiful the colour of his hair was! What a perfect red colour- I hope he never loses it!
Thanks mom and dad for bringing your sweet little guy to see me, I had a great time.WEB ONLINE USE Jack 1 year Feb 1 2014 (1) WEB ONLINE USE Jack 1 year Feb 1 2014 (5) WEB ONLINE USE Jack 1 year Feb 1 2014 (6) WEB ONLINE USE Jack 1 year Feb 1 2014 (9) WEB ONLINE USE Jack 1 year Feb 1 2014 (16) WEB ONLINE USE Jack 1 year Feb 1 2014 (22)
Happy Birthday Handsome!

Lovely Baby A *~5 days fresh~*

When I found out that Mama & Papa G were expecting to say I was elated was an understatement.  I had been quietly waiting to hear of a little bundle on the way 🙂  Mama G is a wonderful woman and I know she will be an amazing mother!
Papa G is an award winning body builder who is use to hard work, discipline, competition (and winning).  It’s beautiful to see that such a strong man can be turned into mush with the birth of a beautiful princess!  I mentioned to Mama G that Papa could bring some items to their session that I would try to include which was very exciting for Papa to hear!
And so they brought their sweet 5 day fresh princess to see me along with a couple “small weights”.  When it came time that I was to include the weights, I shifted over to pick one up and when I moved, the weight did not.  I laughed at myself and tried again before saying “hey Daddy, could you move this over for me?” to which Daddy grabbed the weight like it was a feather and placed it in place.  (By the way, in my defense, the weight was a 40lb weight!)
Little Baby G (as she was called during pregnancy) completely rocked her session.  R-O-C-K-E-D it.
I look forward to watching this sweet angel grow and continue to wrap her daddy around her finger!  🙂

Baby M *~6 days fresh~*

As some of you may have seen, I recently did a lovely maternity session with a beautiful couple and I couldn’t wait to meet their princess.  Well our sweet princess decided to make an early debut (perhaps she was so excited to meet me!)
My dear little Miss M came in to the studio sleeping and remained so until it was her time for her next feed (about 1 hour 15 minutes into our session)
I wasn’t sure what to do with myself, she was such a wonderful sound sleeper.  Up until this session, she was my sleepiest and quickest newborn session.  I couldn’t get enough of her sweet little cheeks and her baby soft skin.
And then it came time for parent shots- and if sweet Baby M follows in her mother (and grandmothers) footsteps, daddy better watch out  when she gets older! He is in Trou-ble! An entire family of gorgeous natural beauties!
I look forward to watching this sweet family grow and can’t wait until I get to see little Miss M again! ❤WEB ONLINE USE Macie 6 days new Feb 1 2014 (6) WEB ONLINE USE Macie 6 days new Feb 1 2014 (9) WEB ONLINE USE Macie 6 days new Feb 1 2014 (14) WEB ONLINE USE Macie 6 days new Feb 1 2014 (14) WEB ONLINE USE Macie 6 days new Feb 1 2014 (23) WEB ONLINE USE Macie 6 days new Feb 1 2014 (25) WEB ONLINE USE Macie 6 days new Feb 1 2014 (30)

Sweet Baby S ~*9 days fresh*~

Baby S came along with her big brother and big sister. And although big sister didn’t want too much to do with having her photo taken, you could still certainly see she loved her.  I really loved seeing her big brother just simply adore her.
And Baby S was just so little and adorable and sweet. I just wanted to keep snuggling her.  I must say, little Miss was quite strong and managed to stretch and kick her way out of almost every wrapping swaddling job I did with her!! I think she was loving testing the new “waters” of being able to stretch out so nicely since coming into our world.  And although she was determined to stretch herself, with some gentle rocking and some lovely warmth she drifted off to dreamland and had a wonderful ‘nap’.
I have been blessed with so many princesses so far this year!!
