Waiting For New Life *~36 weeks~*

A couple weeks ago I got to meet an adorable couple excitedly expecting their first child.  They booked me for not only their bump shots but also their newborn session when their little one makes their big debut.  I am so excited! I really enjoyed our session; watching these two was so sweet.  I loved how adorable and attentive daddy to be was, not only with his beautiful wife but also in regards to the details of the photographs! It was almost like having an awesome “assistant” during the shoot! 🙂
I can only imagine the look of pride on daddy’s face when he meets his new little baby and watches his wife become a mother.  *sigh* it’s a beautiful thing.  I have no doubt these two are going to be super adorable and lovely parents.

And so now that the beautiful belly shots are done, we play the waiting game.  I can’t wait to get the news that another Clarissa Marie Photography squishy little new life has made their way earth side!  And I’ve had quite the run of girls lately, so I’m excited to have a little boy in the studio!

Little Miss A ~*5 days*~

I was blessed to have photographed Miss A’s big brother just a short 20 months ago.  In true “Clarissa Marie Photography newborn girls of 2014” fashion, she came earlier than her expected due date.

Their mom and dad are close friends to my husband and I.  In fact, Daddy and I have been friends since kindergarten! Oh the memories we have!  Little Mr is a spittin’ image of mama’s side of the family, but seems to have daddy’s personality. It’s so cute.  So when I got to meet little Miss A, I was excited to see who she might resemble.  And in my opinion, she looks JUST like Daddy’s side of the family! Mr looks like Mama and Miss looks like Papa! And yet funny thing is, little Mr and Little Miss look just like each other!

At just a sweet 5 days fresh (oh super fresh) we all thought Miss A would be a walk in the sleeping park! And yet…..she was WIDE awake.  For TWO hours.  Seriously, not a droopy eye for 2 hours.  She was fed (multiple times), warm (trust me it’s warm in here!) and snuggly and just WIDE EYED.  Mom and Dad couldn’t believe it. She hadn’t been awake for more than 30 minutes in her sweet 5 days and she was awake for two hours for me.  But even still, she was an angel.  Although she was awake, she was calm and just staring.  In fact, she was so intense with her stare, that I really felt she could see and was watching me and my every move.  My magic finally worked and she fell asleep.  So we got the best of both worlds, an abundance of wide-eyed shots and sleepy shots! I love it!

And she was so teeny- I think almost 2lbs smaller than big brother! I could have snuggled her all day (in fact, I think I did mention to keep her) 🙂

At the end of my session, my daughters came home and were thrilled to be able to see her.  Both wanted to hold her and the did just that!  We were slightly apprehensive about letting my just over 3 year old hold her by herself, but she is such a momma-girl, she was a natural!

I love this!

She was so proud!!!                                                                                                                                                   Seriously, can you believe she is only 5 days old???

Happy Easter! Hopping For Hospice

On April 5th I teamed up with Sweetheart Baby Boutique to do Easter photos with the Easter bunny.  I was able to set up a mini studio like scene at Maraget’s store, Sweetheart Baby Boutique and waited for the clients.

We weren’t entirely sure how it would all go or how busy we would be, but I will say we beat my internal goal and hopes for this event.   I was humbled to see so many that I knew come out to support this event, and ultimately, me.

I enjoyed extra snuggles with some really little babes and some super adorable children.

All the money we raised to be donated to Hospice of Windsor.  As some of you may know, my Grandfather passed away last week after his stay at Hospice.  We couldn’t have been more grateful to the amazing care at Hospice and I was incredibly happy to be able to make this event happen.  We were busy in our 3 hours and we raised $600 to donate to Hospice! Here are a few photos from the event. It’s not always easy setting up “studio” in a different location without the control of the lighting and environment.  I thought the kids did amazing and we had very few who were too afraid to be in a photo with him (Of course, mine were some of those few!)

I greatly appreciate all who came out to support this event, have their adorable little ones photographed with the Easter Bunny and shopped around at Sweetheart Baby Boutique.

If you haven’t been there, I urge you to check it out. Margaret has so many amazing products and her and Lisa are a wealth of knowledge and support to mothers.  They are located on Wyandotte near Pilette in Windsor, Ontario.

Here are just a few of the photos from that day 🙂   Thank You!!!!

Happy 1st Birthday Mr M!

Mr M was back with his big sister for his 1st birthday shoot.  He brought her along on his newborn shoot a year ago and while we had hoped to get a couple “similar” shots with the two of them, he had a different idea!  When you think of a newborn and then one year later, you know there is going to be a major change but you don’t think it will be that big from 12 years to 13 year old. Oh boy is that false! Mr M’s big sister has certainly grown up in this last year; I cannot believe it.
So Mr M is a mover and a shaker and a yeller and a screamer (he likes to randomly squawk loudly which is funny for me to see, not sure how funny mom and big sister think it is!)
Although he was busy, we still managed to get him to stay in one spot long enough to get some photographs!

Happy Birthday Mr M!!!

Happy Easter Cousin!

I recently had the extreme pleasure of not only seeing one of my recent newborn girls again, but she brought along her two older cousins who were equally adorable!  Miss L seemed to take quite the liking to me, she wanted to sit with me the whole time (when we weren’t shooting) and even agreed to stay living at my house when I asked her.  Apparently that’s not quite her normal response to new people!  When we were shooting all three of them were absolute angels! (and who would have thought a shoot with a 5 and 3 year old and a 7 week old would be so easy!?) It was amazing.  And I’m so happy I messaged my clients asking them to bring jammies with them; they are probably some of my most favourite photos.
I really loved this session; and the bunnies did too!
My co-worker and dear friend has 3 bunnies who I have had at my house a few times before.  In case you weren’t aware, I am a registered veterinary technician who has worked in a clinic for almost 12 years now. I want everyone to rest assured that I take the utmost care that my bunnies are kept safe when in photo shoots.  And not only my bunnies, but my clients as well.
Miss M (the eldest) surprisingly did not want to hold the bunny, I was surprised. But Miss L did a wonderful job holding her “baby”.  This sweet little guy is certainly a lover and an attention hog. In fact, if you actually place him on the floor he scrambles as quickly as he can to get back in your lap! It’s where he is most comfortable.
I also couldn’t believe how much Miss A grew in just 6 short weeks! They really do change and grow so quickly.
