My Triplets Are One! ~*Windsor Family Photographer*~

For any of you who know me or follow my work, you know that our family has been greatly blessed in the baby department lately! Last year we welcomed my brothers triplets into our family- what an experience and ride it has been!
These three were my first birth photography experience (I was so lucky, fortunate, excited to be in the OR room during the cesarean section birth).  They also were my first NICU photoshoot experience as well (being part of the Tiny Footprints Project I have been blessed to photograph a number of children in the NICU).  I photographed them weekly in the NICU for 6 weeks.  I did their newborn photoshoot when they were almost 9 weeks old and just recently I photographed their FIRST birthday cake smash! Woah! I can’t believe how fast they have grown, how much they have changed and how amazing this past year was.

To look at them, you would never believe they entered this word at 2lbs 13oz, 3lbs 3oz and 3lbs 12oz!!

Not only did they turn one on June 3, but they all became big sisters and big brother when their parents welcome their little sister into the world on July 3.  (Don’t worry, her photos will be coming soon too)

Big J is a smiley smiler; and I have to say, he really loves me 🙂 Whenever I pop in, he is the first to be smiling and wanting to come see me.  When I leave, he is the first to pout and cry (aww break my heart).  And when I hold him, he just snuggles into me.  The girls, I can see they will have a little sass as they get older.  It is getting quite difficult to tell them apart right now- thank goodness at the moment, they have a distinguishing hemangioma! 🙂

Never did I think there would be this many grandchildren in our family!

Mr D ~6 months~ ~*Windsor Family Photographer*~

When I met Mr D, I was instantly drawn in and fell in love.  There are no words to describe this handsome little guy’s smile; it’s probably one of the biggest smiles I’ve ever seen.  And even though he didn’t feel like providing me with them the entire session, I got a sneak peak during the first moments of meeting. And mom said that it gets even bigger! I just love his sweet little face.   Daddy should be one of the proudest men around; a gorgeous wife and beautiful son- so blessed!

This beautiful family braved the many, many, many mosquitoes (which I did warn were very bad this year so luckily they had bug spray- silly me, I tell them not to forget it and I forgot mine!) and I think it was certainly worth it.

One of my favourite mama and child photos happened by chance during this session; while mama was getting Mr D to give some smiles I continued photographing.  And what resulted was a photograph of true happiness, true beauty and true love. *sigh* I have such a super fantastic job.

PS: The last photograph makes me chuckle; Little D looks like he’s giving me the eye “seriously lady, are you done?”

Reload & His Family *~Windsor Family Photographer*~

A few months ago I was contacted by a woman asking if I could do family photos, only difference was that her baby was a fur-baby.  My response was “Absolutely yes!”.  I told her I was also a Registered Veterinary Technician working in a veterinary hospital.  Of course, that means that I would be combining two of my loves; animals and photography, into one session! How exciting!

When I arrived and met Reload (how cute is that name!?!) I could tell he was a great dog.  I knew from looking at him that he was a senior, which I would have guessed around 10 years old.  I was shocked to hear that Reload is actually 14 years old! For a 14 year old Lab, he’s pretty spry! And I found out that he had even been hit by a car at the age of 13 and survived with no long lasting effects. (Poor Reload)

It’s pretty hard not to fall in love with a furry friend, especially when they are so sweet and lovable.  And so I was told that Reload’s “mama” had done just that when she had met Reload’s “papa”.  And now, it appears that Reload is her baby; he certainly loves his mama.

“Mama” & “Papa” are also super adorable 🙂 And “Papa” was so nice to oblige when I asked him to sit on the gravel dirt 🙂 Thanks for braving all the crazy mosquitoes!!!

Miss A ~*Sunshine Foundation*~ ~*Windsor Photographer*~

A few weeks back I was contacted by a public relations assistant for The Sunshine Foundation to see if I was interested in being part of the organization.  At the time, I have to admit, I actually did not know what this foundation was, so I started asking around.   I have come to learn all the amazing and great things this foundation has done (For me, it seems the easiest way to describe it is similiar to the Make A Wish foundation)
They asked if I was willing to donate my time to photograph a little girl and her family who were chosen for a Sunshine Wish.
When I met Miss A and her family- it left absolutely no doubt in my mind that I had made the right decision to connect with this foundation.  To say this was an incredible family is such a vast understatement that I feel that I couldn’t put into words their true nature.

Miss A was vibrant and sweet, and by God, she has the most beautiful smile.  It’s truly infectious.  We had a lot in common, Miss A loved being artistic- which is clearly right up my alley!   And I can only hope that as my daughters get older, they continue to love each other as deeply as these two sisters do.

I had such a blast, even if we had to battle the troops of mosquitoes who were determined to interfere with our session.  (Hey, I only came home with 19 bites on my upper legs, as counted by my daughter).  Hopefully the family was luckier than I was in the mosquito battle.

I truly wish this family the best, and I hope to see Miss A and her family again.

And I count myself lucky to have accepted this request to work with the Sunshine Foundation of Canada- it so far, has lead me to meeting a wonderful family and I look forward to more!

It’s Prom Time!

When I met Ashton for the first time, he was but a mere young boy.  A sweet, well mannered boy.  He was the *little brother* of a dear friend of mine who met him through the organization.  Over the years we have watched him grow into a fine young man, sometimes I cannot believe how grown he is (it makes me feel “old”)
And he is the third and last brother I have photographed for this family- there certainly is no shortage of manners, good looks and smarts in these three boys! I am proud of where Ashton is going and how he has grown and I look forward to watching him continue on with his life.
I have a soft spot for this handsome young man and I was honoured (and excited) to photograph him on a very special night in his highschool career; his prom.  I can remember, not too long ago, my own excitement at my prom and dressing up and having a night out with my friends.
Ashton looked so handsome, and with a beautiful date by his side, I am sure he had quite the time.  Honestly, these kids have such style! Not too many can pull this look off so flawlessly. But just look at this!

I have enjoyed photographing these three young men for their mama, a woman who has done an incredible job with these three boys and whom I can see, they love very much.

Congratulations Ashton.  And to quote the famous Dr Seuss; Oh the Places You’ll Go!
