I recently photographed Miss C’s mama and papa just a few short weeks before she made her arrival. For those that don’t know, I met mama many years ago through mutual friends and then she was one of my oldest daughters nurses when she was born (I even have a photo of them together!). I met Papa about 9 years ago through mutual friends- he was such a sweet, young fresh faced blondie and I loved him! Imagine everyone’s happiness when these two beauties came together. I had the honour of making their wedding cake a few years back when I was still making cakes (yup, I used to do that!). Shortly after their wedding I got this newborn headband specifically with them in mind! They weren’t pregnant, they weren’t even talking about babies, let alone having a baby girl and yet I kept it with the hopes that one day I would be able to use it for them. So when they announced there was a little bean in the oven I was elated- and then as I looked through the reveal photos to find out it was a girl….yahoo! I get to use my headband! (so perhaps they can “thank me” for forseeing a baby girl for them) 🙂 Perhaps their way of thanking me was by naming their sweet daughter after their favourite photographer 🙂 Haha. It’s not the same name, but it’s in the same ‘category’ and I have already warned her parents that I will forever take credit for that 🙂 I also love the items mama brought- especially her hairpiece from her wedding day!
Well, Miss C was but a mere 4 days fresh when she settled into my studio. What a snuggly, chunky little monkey! I love her. Love her. And with parents as awesome as hers, she will continue to be loved and awesome herself 🙂
