I first met Mr E’s family 8 months ago when they contacted me to do a maternity session and newborn session with them. Mama was a gorgeous glowing mama-to-be and Papa was an excited, doting papa-to-be. Mr E wasn’t too interested in sleeping during his newborn session so we gave him a second day of shooting. And we got some wonderful mama, papa and baby shots. This time, he was more interested in sleeping! 🙂 And although he wasn’t quite sitting on his own yet, I bet he is there by now! I love love love this little man’s cheeks. They SCREAM to be kissed- which I bet his parents do quite often. And I really love seeing just two little teeth in his cute little mouth. I dare you not to smile looking at his photos- it’s impossible! I’m not even sure which I like best, his smiling photo or his Mr Serious photo. Either way, his cheeks are incredible.
I can’t believe how fast babies grow- I know I say it all the time, but really, I feel like I just shot his newborn session!
The world may have billions of people in it, but it really is just a small small world. My husband and I have been together since we were in highschool and thus I have been close with his family and cousins, not only because we are family, but because we were friends! And so when my husband’s cousin started dating this beautiful girl it was a very happy moment- she is as sweet as you can get. And I know, we went to grade school together! My best friend growing up lived right next door to her and her family. And now, we are all family. It was so exciting to hear that they were expecting…*finally* (as I think all the family had been thinking.) 🙂 But truly and honestly, I don’t think you could find more genuine and wonderful people. I really love them.
I also loved that they did not find out the sex of the baby and left it up to one of the greatest surprises one could encounter. And when the big day arrived, I had already set myself that he was a boy….and he was! But just a teeny little one, weighing in at a whopping 5lbs 8oz at birth, he was just over 5lbs when he came to the studio. And he was an angel.
Mama brought some books, which I understand were hers when she was little and he fit just perfectly with them.
And I really love when parents want to be in the photos, and I think we all can wish we looked as gorgeous as her just days after giving birth. I loved watching them look at little Mr with such immense love and adoration already. It’s one of my favourite things to watch with new parents. And it’s exciting to have another baby in the family! (it’s a never ending, always growing family!). I am happy that they chose me to photograph him (not only because I love it, but it meant up to 4 hours of uninterrupted me and baby time!)
I am excited to watch him grow. And watch his parents grow too.
