I can’t wait to photograph the wedding of these two beautiful people! It was freezing the day we went out to do their engagement session-but these two braved the weather to show me some love. (Since I was 34 weeks pregnant, I loved the cold weather!) I don’t know if you could find two more genuinely sweet and kind people- which makes sense why they would both be nurses and work in the medical field. So much compassion. And bring them together and we have an infinite amount of love towards each other. Their wedding day is going to be so much fun and so full of family and love. Yippee!
I am greatly looking forward to photographing this wedding next year! It will be my first wedding coming off my maternity leave in the new year and after spending some more time with this two; it’s going to be so much fun! We laughed and talked the whole time….lots and lots of laughing and giggling. Both of them were so adorable; I know nerves set in and it can feel awkward having your photo taken (I feel it every time we have our own photos taken!) but these two rolled with everything I asked and giggled and laughed the whole way. I can tell their wedding is going to be full of love and fun; and I bet some major side hurting laughs!
“Among those whom I like or admire, I can find no common denominator, but among those whom I love, I can; all of them make me laugh.”
― W.H. Auden
This adorable couple came to me after a dear friend of theirs got them a gift certificate for this session- how sweet is that!? What I got during this session was that Jim seems like a very quiet, reserved sort of man but I think he really is a silly, funny guy….perhaps even a little goofy?! But whatever type of man he is, one thing is for sure, he loves Ashley! You can see it in his smile when he looks at her. Awww. And Ashley, wow, what a beauty! I can only imagine how she will look on the day of her wedding! And should they ever have children, I hope they get her sweet dimple! 🙂
Congratulations! Wishing a lifetime of happiness and love to you both! ❤
I couldn’t be happier to be a part of this beautiful family’s present & future. Considering I’ve been friends with this beautiful mother and bride to be for 10 years! (and such a small world that I have known dad for even longer!). I’ve watched her grow from a teenager into a confident, beautiful, wonderful woman, mother and now soon to be wife! Their beautiful daughter is probably one of the most adorable children you could ever have a full conversation with (and she wasn’t even 3 when we did this shoot!). Seriously, the stuff she comes up with! I am so excited and can’t wait to photograph their big day!
Many, many moons ago, Erin and I became cousins through marriage and although the “cousin status” is not longer official, we have always kept in touch with each others lives (oh the magic of social media!). I have photographed Erin & Kyle’s family on numerous occasions over the last couple years, and their youngest daughters newborn shoot last year. They are a beautiful family (which I think is a vast understatement). These two are also huge inspirations to so many around them, both of them helping others gain control of their lives and their health through KPK Fitness. I see their posts on a regular basis, different exercises that can be done at home, with small children and at the gym. Their physiques are those to be envied (and trust me, being 18 weeks pregnant, I certainly envy them!). So I was excited they wanted to include that portion of their lives in their engagement photos. We had fun at their fitness studio with a series of fun shots between them and with their beautiful daughters.
I am looking forward to shooting their wedding, it’s coming up so quickly! And I’m also looking forward to having one of my dear and talented photographer friends, Stephanie from Stesha Bella Photography, shoot along side of me!
This wedding is going to be so much fun, I just know it!
This past fall I was happily involved in a surprise engagement! My dear friend Brandon was planning to propose and we talked about doing a ‘family’ shoot with the two of them and their dog during which he would pop the big question. I don’t know who was more nervous, me or him! The first half of the shoot we spent just shooting some nice couple photos with Harley. Then off in the seclusion of the little forest, we wrote a little message from Harley to his “mama”. I still laugh as I recall the sweet expletive that Amy used when he got down on one knee. Of course, we both were lovingly “yelled at” but the true happiness shined through. I am so blessed to be part of this and so happy for my friends. Amy is a very lucky woman, Brandon is the real deal. A real catch. But getting to know Amy over these years, we know that Brandon is also very lucky. Amy is a beauty, inside and out. She is his perfect match. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two!
Listening to these two talk, it appears the last 6 weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind of crazy. They contacted me shortly after Shawn popped the question and we booked the session right away. I have known Shawn through mutual friends for a few years, he has a strong dedication to health and fitness (I think he might be a machine when it comes to working out!) and he has a great way of making people laugh (if you saw the silly faces during our session, you would instantly understand!). Just a few weeks prior to our session, Shawn was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. I know what I thought when I heard it, I can imagine what they were thinking. With the thought of the what could be to come, procedures, chemotherapy, bone marrow transplants, they decided they wanted to have their session done before this potentially started. And I was only happy to be able to do this with them. I had yet to meet Melanie, until our session and I almost felt like I was an intruder on their love during the photos! Their love and affection was intoxicating and refreshing. Nothing would or could stand in their way. And although they have yet to officially declare their vows, these two are already living the vow of “in sickness and in health” as they support each other and love each other.
I believe that love is a very powerful healing tool. Love has the power to make us forget. Forget that the world can be a scary place. Forget that life can throw shocking curve balls. Forget that sometimes we can fall victim to “what ifs” and “should haves”. Love also has the power to make us remember. Remember that we have those around us that help us up to be the best that we can be. Remember that we have those around us that live their lives to be in our company. Remember that no matter what or how we feel, the feeling of love will overpower all else.
And I can see that love with these two. I look forward to their wedding and the future.
