This was one of my last families to photograph before I went on maternity leave! And what a wonderful family to finish with. These three children were some of the most wonderful, well mannered, adorable children I’ve ever seen. Even the youngest, who is less than 2 years old, would listen and pose just how I asked. Honestly all of them made me want to squeeze and hug them. And mom and dad were awesome too! It’s one of my favourite aspects of this job, meeting and talking with such wonderful people and families.
Some of you may know that we recently welcomed our third daughter into our family. She was born on January 5th weighing 8lbs 3oz, with what seems like 3lbs of that in her cheeks alone.
She was just 3 days fresh in the first three images, 2 weeks old in the images with my other daughters and 7 weeks old in the last outfit.
My oldest daughter, who is 8.5 years old, wore my wedding dress, my middle daughter who turned 5 a week before her sister was born, wore my veil and we wrapped our youngest. I am just in love.
The last image was taken for a model shoot for a vendor who made that little outfit (Handmade Trend).
She’s the reason (and a good one!) as to why it’s been somewhat quiet over in my photography world. Her sisters are very happy and love her so much. They were both (especially the 5 year old) very excited to learn to change diapers and on occasion argue over who will get to do it! They are very helpful to me and want to kiss her constantly. (Which sometimes results in her waking up which results in a somewhat unhappy mama!) 🙂
If you are expecting and having a midwife, you may see some of these images up at the Midwives of Windsor office during the year 🙂
This is the 5th time I have had the chance to photograph this lovely family; maternity, newborn, 6 month, cake smash and finally a fall family session. Sometimes I see my little babies and how they’ve grown and they look so different from their newborn stage; Mr E is not one of those! He has the same cute little round face and adorable cheeks, only now he has the sweetest little blond curl locks in the back! He wasn’t a super fan of his photo being taken beyond the first 10 minutes, until the last 10 minutes! It was a little chilly that day but beautiful out; we had warmer weather a month later! It was so nice to see them again!
Sweet, adorable Miss A is one of my (many) little cousins- 2nd cousin in fact- we’ve got a VERY big family and there are lots of us! She is a tough cookie to crack into the smiles, but regardless, she is an absolute cabbage patch doll! Her eyes are ridiculously amazing- and I could just pinch her cheeks all day long. I remember when her big brother was born, just about 9 1/2 years ago, like it was yesterday. And now, here he is, a big brother, so grown and loving his new sister so much!
One of my BFF’s since grade school is expecting and we’re due only a few weeks apart! She has been living in Toronto for many years, so sadly for us we get to experience it together via emails, texts and social media but it’s still so exciting! She and her family were here for a visit and we had to squeeze in a maternity session before I stopped shooting. We went out to Thiessens Apple Orchard (bummer there wasn’t many apples left!) but it was beautiful. Of course, it helps when I have such a stunner as a friend to shoot!!!!! I love her so much! (and her husband and sweet daughter). I can’t wait to see if Miss S is going to have a baby brother or sister.
This beautiful mama to be and I went to highschool together *a few years ago* and seeing her again made me realize that some people don’t change. She is still a vibrant, funny, excitable, can’t-keep-still kinda girl! And I love, love, loved shooting her! Knowing from personal experience with my previous pregnancies, not every woman embraces the changes during pregnancy. It can be difficult to see such major body changes and truly love them. Christina is not one of those women. She is a love-everything-about-her-belly woman. Listening to her, she adores her belly, the bigger the better! She feels beautiful and sexy (and she should; look at her!). We had a great time shooting. I do have to admit, I was slightly jealous, I am a few weeks behind her in my own pregnancy but I could not move as fast as her! I swear she did a handspring back to her feet after I had her laying on her back- I could barely get up from sitting! Haha. Of course, I cannot forget about dad. He is very excited to meet his little man and clearly in love with this beautiful mama!
And although I could not accept shooting her newborn as it is too far into my own pregnancy to complete it, I can’t wait to hear of his arrival. Any day now!
Talk about a wonderful family! Gosh. I just have the best job. I get to meet such amazing people, families and children! (and so cute too!)
Mr S was so enthralled with the sand and the grass that I had to work my toosh off to get him to give me a glance or two! I loved just watching him explore and feel new textures and see new things- it’s one of the best things about being a parent. Their inquisitive nature and wonder of all life really makes you sit and think about all the beauty around us that we take for granted and see right through. Our daily lives just consume us that we forget how much beauty and good there is in this world around us. This little guy certainly reminded me of that.
How gorgeous are they?!
Miss T was such a sweetheart! Which comes as no surprise since her parents are just about the nicest couple you could meet. I met them a while back when I photographed them for their maternity session and I just LOVED watching how loving and caring dad was about his beautiful wife and the look of excitement on both their faces when they spoke about their baby girl. Little Miss T was so soft and sweet and squishy and just the perfect picture of love with her mama and papa. Her beautiful little lips are just something I couldn’t stop staring at with every photo I went through – comes as no surprise because her family is just full of beautiful people! (inside and out!)
And to top it off, when her parents came to pick up their disc, they dropped off a present for me and my upcoming baby girl! Could they get any sweeter?
Mr L was back with his beautiful mama and papa for his 1/2 birthday shoot! His beautiful lips and amazing eyes have not changed since he was born (they’re exactly like mama’s!) It’s so wonderful to be able to watch these little beautiful humans grow and watch a family grow in their love. He has a way of making you fall completely in love with him and all I wanted to do was just put down my camera and cuddle. Even when he wants to be a little grumpy pants and not smile for me, he still wins my heart. How could he not?
Thank you for coming back to see me, I can’t wait for the next 6 months!
What a small world we live in! I was contacted by this sweet little man’s grandmother to book the session for her daughter. Little did I know her daughter happens to be my dental hygenist and THEN I find out she is also married to the best friend of my cousin! Actually Mama was one of the first people to know I was also pregnant as I had a dental appointment just 4 days after I found out myself, so I had to spill the beans! 🙂
I was so excited for them and she, in all her adorable sweetness, was just over the top excited when I told her we were expecting too. Baby C was so awesome, I just loved him! And I had to steal a couple nose rubs with him during his session, he was just so tiny and sweet. Daddy also brought along a few items to include and I think they turned out just awesome!
*(I also want to make it known that both the football and the train images are composites. This means that daddy’s hands never left the baby at any moment and it took multiple images to create this final one. Safety is extremely important to me and I will never compromise that!)* 🙂
