Oh this handsome fella….a masculine spitting image of his big sister! I have been photographing this family and their children since big sister was just a few days old….over 4 years now! Not only have they become amazing clients, but amazing friends as well. Mom, she is insanely crafty and sweet and talented and I simply adore her! Dad is a personal trainer and professional body builder (and who I have had as my personal trainer)…he is so sweet. He never made me feel bad, or uncomfortable, or self conscious or anything but excited and strong every session we had! (Check out Marty’s Way Personal Training in Windsor, Ontario….you won’t be disappointed!)
So, with this little Mr, it was fitting to do a muscle theme cake smash! (like seriously….see his onsie? “This is All Muscle” haha too cute!
And he did what every cake smash photographer hopes for….face first into the cake! Yum!!!
Once again, another one of “my” babies! Maternity, newborn, throughout the first year, cake smash, family and here we are, 2nd year birthday photos! 🙂 I love that I have done the same pose with her parents and her 5 times now- belly to belly, belly to belly with baby in between, then 6 month, then one year and now at 2. It’s just a blessing. She is so beautiful just like her mama, but looks just like Daddy to me! I love watching these two parents interact with their princess, so much happiness and love.
Another one of my sweet first year graduates! This is the 5th session I’ve had with this beautiful family; Maternity, Newborn, 6 Month, Family Christmas and now Cake Smash! And I have grown to love them so much! Miss H has always been what I’ve called my little Cabbage Patch Doll. Her eyes and sweet cheeks remind me just of those adorable dolls. And she has the funniest personality to go with it! I am so grateful to gain clients and friends like these; allowing me to document this time in their lives. Recently, since I’m a little behind on posting on the blog, Miss H said her first very intentional word of Baby! It is the cutest thing and I love watching her grow even after our first year. So a big Thank you to her super awesome parents!!
She also was one of the best destroyers of a cake during a cake smash ever…..with eating almost none of it! She just literally pounded it into smithereens! There was nothing left to the cake except destruction and crumbs! It was hilarious. It also meant I had cake and icing in the oddest locations across my studio!
Miss R has been one of my Grow With Me babies that I have seen every 3 months since she was in the womb! Her hair has been one of the most incredible heads of hair since she was a newborn! And her eyes….sigh….they truly are this blue and adorable! She loved her cake, in fact, I think she would have surely eaten every last crumb if we let her. It’s been so awesome watching her grow; watching her personality and seeing her family every few months. It makes me sad to think her first year is over and I won’t be seeing her as often!
I loved mama’s idea of her first birthday photo being taken while holding a photo of her during her newborn session- so cute! (and see what I mean about the hair??)
I first met Mr A and his family last year during my Christmas mini session (I had met his mama when she helped with her triplet nephew and nieces photoshoots!) They are just about the sweetest, nicest people you will ever encounter. It comes as no surprise to me that Mr A is just as sweet and adorable! He has grown quite a bit from when I met him at just 4 months and his hair is awesome. And I think it’s safe to say he greatly enjoyed his cake smash! He truly went to town, and gave me some of the best shots, action shots and expressions ever~!
Happy Birthday Big Boy!

I first met Mr L’s mama a few years ago when I purchased a couple photography items from her, she was running a business making headbands and I love supporting local businesses. I then photographed his big sister for her cake smash. Here we are now, Mr L is turning one and it was his turn! Look at those amazing eyes, BOTH kids have incredible eyes that you just can’t help but stop and stare….they are so cute!
Mama made his super cool banner for his cake smash (how adorable!) and what a great way to preserve some of those milestones! If you are looking for headbands, items for your children or photography props, head over to Lena and Lu Prop Stop on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/LenaLuPropStop?fref=ts) and take a look at all her awesome items!
I have been photographing Mr E. since he was in the womb! And I have loved watching him grow over this first year. Some times, my babies look very different from when they were newborns, and other times, like with Mr E, they look exactly like they did as a newborn….only bigger! His sweet cheeks and little blond curly wisps have been growing and getting cuter every time I see him! Always the cautious guy, he holds his smiles in and cracks one every once in a while….at least with those he doesn’t know. He’s a bowl full of smiles when it comes to mommy and daddy snuggling him! Happy Birthday Mr E!!!
I photographed Miss Z almost exactly one year ago and I was so excited to have her back in studio for her cake smash. She certainly did not lose her adorable cheeks that she had during her newborn session! She was so excited and happy to get to that cake, she even picked the whole thing up! I love being able to do comparison shots; how amazing is life?
It’s so hard for me not to keep and squeeze every sweet child that I photograph, I may capture their photos but they totally capture my heart (I know how cheesy that sounds but it is totally true!) I really love my job!!!!
I first met Mr A, along with all his family, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents back in the summer during an extended shoot. He was the cutest little thing….and not much has changed! It’s not always easy being a baby or a toddler, life is so new. Every experience is new and can be overwhelming taking it all in. And so we roll with it, does he want to just snuggle with mommy? or daddy? Or eat snacks? Or hold his favourite toy? What about watching their favourite show on mommy or daddy’s phone? If that’s what will be needed, then lets roll with it! At first, Mr A was a little less than keen on the fact that I did indeed, continue to be in the room 🙂 But with some yummy snacks, gentle, soothing talking and of course, his favourite songs we warmed up. Mama sent me a sneak peak of his adorable little outfit for his cake smash and I ran with it. I was so excited how this whole set up turned out and he was the “icing on the cake!” when it came to completion of the perfect scene. I am so in love with his beautiful eyes and adorable cheeks! And he has the cutest dimples!!
I have known Miss M’s mama for a long time. She was just a sweet quiet tween and we shared the same love of bowling (yes, bowling). Funny thing about growing up, is that once you reach a certain age, no matter the age gap, we all become the “same age”. And I think having children close whatever the gap may be. Although there are only a couple years between us, I still think “when did we become the same age”? She has certainly grown into a beautiful wife and mother (actually, quite stunning) 🙂 Now although I haven’t known Papa that long, he is just as sweet and adorable as his wife and I have loved watching him take care and love his girls. (Ok, he’s pretty handsome but we don’t want it to go to his head) 😉
When Mama and Papa asked me to capture their pregnancy, newborn, 6 months and now 1st year cake smash, it made my heart swell with pride and love. Following a family on a journey like this also allows me to do something else I love; progression shots. I love being able to show the progression of life with similar shots taken along the way. And hands down, some of my favourite progression shots are from Miss M’s first year. I love her. I love her family.
Her crystal blue eyes are incredible. So incredible they almost don’t seem real. And try as I might, the photographs just don’t truly capture their full beauty (you can tell they’re gorgeous, so just think about how much more they are in real life!)
Happy Birthday Miss M! And happy 1st Parent Birthday to her mama and papa!
