Another handsome little babe! Another beautiful sibling that I’m blessed to photograph.
I first met mom and dad when they were pregnant with big sister and I photographed their anticipation of becoming parents. They trusted me enough to capture her newborn and all throughout her life so far, so imagine my excitement when mom contacted me and told me they were expecting again! And then when we found out it would be a little mister for the sister, oooh how exciting!
I love that over this journey, I get to become not only a clients photographer, but their friend. One they can turn to when they are worried, or just to talk to. Little Mr gave mom and dad a bit of a scare when it was possible he was going to make his appearance way early and I hope that my words and discussions helped mom just a little bit. Thankfully, he “hung around the womb” a bit longer and arrived after being considered full term! Woo hoo!
Watching families grow is one of the best parts of my job, and when it’s for people I already love, it’s even more special! I was honoured yet again to be asked to photograph a new sibling for their newborn session! Big brother S was just a little guy when I had him in studio 3.5 years ago, in fact, he fit on top of some of the very books that mom and dad brought back. To put it simply, I love this family. I love these people. And I am incredibly thankful to know them ❤
I first met this beautiful couple a few years back when I photographed their maternity session for their first, then multiple times from newborn through Miss H’s life so of course, I was pumped when they contacted me and told me they were expecting again! And this time….a little brother! 🙂
Miss H was sleepy and not feeling her best and probably would have been happiest if she could have slept the entire time, inspite of being a toddler and not up to her normal seld, she was so good!
I photographed Miss A’s big sister 2 years ago and it is amazing how much these two look alike. I had to keep reminding myself not to call her by her big sisters name! Big sister was so sweet too- I ran into them at a restaurant a few weeks before the birth and I had a great time with Miss N! She was so sweet and I just wanted to scoop her up and squeeze her.
I went to highschool and was best friends with this little one’s dad and I remember when he and his wife began dating when we were still so young (actually, it was just recently 17 years ago!)- So they have officially been together more than half their lives. So to be able to capture these parts of their lives for them means the world to me. I can really say I was there in the beginning of their relationship, the beginning of their marriage, the beginning of their parenthood and I hope I continue getting to be there always!
The lashes on this sweetheart are incredible! And his pouty lips and kissable cheeks…I am sure they are kissed…A LOT! He was so good for his whole session that I just couldn’t stop photographing him! Which resulted in so many amazing photos that I had to edit them all. I was excited to see the items his parents brought for the session, especially since we’re a Detroit Tigers house! And I think they worked out just perfect 🙂
Just about 2 years ago I had photographed Big Sister for her newborn session! I really love when I have the same families return for their children! Although big sister was a little tired, we got what we wanted before she headed off to Gramma’s house for a nap. I love the hair this little guy had- I felt like I was photographing his big sister all over again! How sweet are these two?
Another amazing story from another set of amazing parents. These two gorgeous babies were also born via a surrogate to which mom and dad knew and were close to. They were able to see their babies grow and be close every day. And boy! Do these two ever look like their mom and dad! They are like little clones. Little Mr C was so easy going and complacent, his sister, she was the vocal one of the two. She expressed her dissatisfaction with certain poses, all while her brother slept the session away! It is so cool to see the distinct differences in personalities so early on in their sweet little lives!
Earlier this year I had the amazing pleasure to photograph the birth of a set of twins who were born via a surrogate. When I arrived at the hospital the excitement and ease of the room was incredible. The surrogate mother was so easy going, laughing and enjoying this time. She might have had an advantage or two, considering she has 6 of her own children, with the last 2 being twins that were born just 1.5 years ago. The father decided he wished to be in the delivery room when his babies were born so I did need to step out for the 7 minutes it took to vaginally birth these two! When I walked back into the room to see the parents holding their two little boys, it took everything for me not to cry. Although there was a fair number of people in the room, I can almost guarantee they had no idea that anyone else was in the room besides themselves and their babies. It was like I was literally watching them fall in love. And it was incredible. The gift the surrogate mother gave is beyond words.
Woops! So with my own 2 older children home from school for the summer, along with the baby, it appears I’ve gotten a tad behind on my blogging! Well, time to make up for that!
This little guy was such a dream to photograph. He had the most perfect skin and I just loved his little smiles that he offered to me! It wasn’t too long later while I was attending a workshop on Introducing Solids to your baby that I ran into him and his mama again- only he was a touch bigger! 🙂
