Miss T was my very last newborn before I started my photography maternity leave. My own little one was due 2 months later and my belly was starting to get too big to do sessions anymore.
I think little Miss wanted to be my final one because she waited two extra weeks to come out and meet us all! Her mom was one of my best friends growing up, we went to grade school and high school together and I got to shoot her parents wedding in Mexico just a couple years ago. She was amazing and so precious.
There was so much meaning through many of these photos. Since mama is an elementary teacher, I had to include the Princess & The Pea theme and dad works in radio so of course, I got to use my radio prop! Grampa also played for the St. Louis Blues back in the day so the jersey was also important! I loved every minute!
Miss A is a very tough cookie to crack. She is so inquisitive and thoughtful that she carefully studies all that is around her with the utmost seriousness. Even with the aid of her big brother, she held her smiles within and only showed it through her beautiful eyes.
Those cheeks begged to be pinched and kissed….and since she is my cousin’s daughter, I was lucky and happy to oblige.
I was at the hospital the day that her big brother was born, and it is hard to believe that was almost 10 years ago!
Almost 5 years ago I photographed her big cousin for her 6 month shoot and you can really tell they are related! (The image with the cabbage patch doll hat on is the one that I really see it in). I just love them!
Miss E was one of only a handful of girls I had this year! And I absolutely fell in love with her. She was beyond amazing and her eyes and cheeks were too much for me to handle. I could have cuddled with her all day long – but I had work to do! And lucky me, she didn’t make me work too hard. I think you will be hardpressed to find a more amazing and beautiful baby. I just love her!
I was so excited to have Miss S in studio! It was the year of the boys this year and it was nice to be able to pull out some girly items! Such a small world; it just so happened that I had taken care of their dogs at the old veterinary clinic I had worked at for many years. Miss S was an absolute dream baby; so tiny and perfect and sleepy and cuddly and awesome (I could go on!). Mom and Dad really wanted to get a Candy Corn photo as it was just around Halloween. They brought the candy and an adorable little hat. When I asked if someone had made the hat for her, dad replied that he did! He learned to knit just so he could make things for his little girl (sigh. Is that not the cutest thing you have ever heard?)
This beautiful family was back to see me just a short time after we did their maternity session and big brother was back; this time showing off his brand new baby brother! He certainly loves his little brother and this family is so blessed and adorable with their two sweet little boys! I just wanted to snuggle Mr N the whole time; he was such a doll! I just love all these amazing children, babies and families I get to meet!
Sweet, adorable Miss A is one of my (many) little cousins- 2nd cousin in fact- we’ve got a VERY big family and there are lots of us! She is a tough cookie to crack into the smiles, but regardless, she is an absolute cabbage patch doll! Her eyes are ridiculously amazing- and I could just pinch her cheeks all day long. I remember when her big brother was born, just about 9 1/2 years ago, like it was yesterday. And now, here he is, a big brother, so grown and loving his new sister so much!
One of my BFF’s since grade school is expecting and we’re due only a few weeks apart! She has been living in Toronto for many years, so sadly for us we get to experience it together via emails, texts and social media but it’s still so exciting! She and her family were here for a visit and we had to squeeze in a maternity session before I stopped shooting. We went out to Thiessens Apple Orchard (bummer there wasn’t many apples left!) but it was beautiful. Of course, it helps when I have such a stunner as a friend to shoot!!!!! I love her so much! (and her husband and sweet daughter). I can’t wait to see if Miss S is going to have a baby brother or sister.
This beautiful mama to be and I went to highschool together *a few years ago* and seeing her again made me realize that some people don’t change. She is still a vibrant, funny, excitable, can’t-keep-still kinda girl! And I love, love, loved shooting her! Knowing from personal experience with my previous pregnancies, not every woman embraces the changes during pregnancy. It can be difficult to see such major body changes and truly love them. Christina is not one of those women. She is a love-everything-about-her-belly woman. Listening to her, she adores her belly, the bigger the better! She feels beautiful and sexy (and she should; look at her!). We had a great time shooting. I do have to admit, I was slightly jealous, I am a few weeks behind her in my own pregnancy but I could not move as fast as her! I swear she did a handspring back to her feet after I had her laying on her back- I could barely get up from sitting! Haha. Of course, I cannot forget about dad. He is very excited to meet his little man and clearly in love with this beautiful mama!
And although I could not accept shooting her newborn as it is too far into my own pregnancy to complete it, I can’t wait to hear of his arrival. Any day now!
I absolutely LOVED little Mr M’s wrinkles! He had such sweet “old man” wrinkles on his forehead and squishy ones on his back. His sweet little lips and nose were just begging to be kissed! (I refrained, but I bet his family doesn’t!) 🙂 A few times I saw his eyes as he peeked up at me as if to say “You still here?” but he was such a doll. It was so much fun to have another little baby to snuggle. I think it’s safe to say about 75% of my babies this year were boys! It has certainly been the year of the boy! ❤ But lucky me, I got the best ones! 🙂
This sweet, tiny little boy was just that: tiny and sweet! He was just a little 5lbs of wonderful love! He really loved staring at me initially ….and then off to dreamland he went and away we went! I even got him in some of my props I don’t get to use much, but his little bum fit just perfect! It was great catching up with Daddy since we went to high school together and loved meeting his wonderful wife and talking about babies with her! I love that what I love to do allows me to meet, or reconnect with all sorts of wonderful people. I am truly so lucky to be trusted to hold, handle and snuggle (and capture) all these amazing new little lives.
