Woops! So with my own 2 older children home from school for the summer, along with the baby, it appears I’ve gotten a tad behind on my blogging! Well, time to make up for that!
This little guy was such a dream to photograph. He had the most perfect skin and I just loved his little smiles that he offered to me! It wasn’t too long later while I was attending a workshop on Introducing Solids to your baby that I ran into him and his mama again- only he was a touch bigger! 🙂
I first met Mr L’s mama a few years ago when I purchased a couple photography items from her, she was running a business making headbands and I love supporting local businesses. I then photographed his big sister for her cake smash. Here we are now, Mr L is turning one and it was his turn! Look at those amazing eyes, BOTH kids have incredible eyes that you just can’t help but stop and stare….they are so cute!
Mama made his super cool banner for his cake smash (how adorable!) and what a great way to preserve some of those milestones! If you are looking for headbands, items for your children or photography props, head over to Lena and Lu Prop Stop on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/LenaLuPropStop?fref=ts) and take a look at all her awesome items!
When my friend Lindsay and her husband got pregnant, I was ecstatic! She was a gorgeous pregnant mama. I will never forget the night that Lindsay went into labour- we were all at a friend’s wedding (of which the bride herself and many guests worked on the OB floor!). Her dear sweet husband was convinced that she wasn’t in labour- finally they decided to go to the hospital just to ‘check it out’. Well just a few “short hours” later, our sweet little man entered the world. He was so sweet and tiny and I was so excited to do his newborn photos. And here we are, one year later doing his first birthday shoot! He is so sweet and I love his chunky little cheeks and arms! Happy Birthday Little E!
As some of you may know, as a “day profession” I am a registered veterinary technician and work at South Windsor Animal Hospital (www.southwindsoranimalhospital.ca) We are a close knit group of co-workers and thoroughly enjoy taking part in various charity & fundraising events. This year, some of my co-workers decided to take on the task of running in the Heartbreaker Challenge at Malden Park. This event was put on my Windsor Regional Hospital and raised money for the Cardiac Wellness Centre and Pulmonary Rehab Program. If any of you are familiar with obstacle events such as Tough Mudder, this was formed to be similar. Participants had 15 obstacles throughout the race to overcome. From giant mud pits to crawl through, muddy water ditches to trudge through (some areas the water was waist high!), walls to climb, tires to carry and more. While I did not actively participate in the event, I went to photograph my co-workers (including my boss) and show my support (although I did not realize I would walk the length of the park 4 times and be up and down hills while following them- boy was I sore the next day!!)
I hope you enjoy some of my favourites!
Way to go everyone who participated in this awesome event!!!
I recently had a very excited shoot. My brother and his girlfriend were surprised when they found out they were expecting, but imagine how much more surprised and shocked they were when they were told it was natural TRIPLETS!
A baby is always a miracle, but when that miracle becomes 3 unexpected miracles, well that is awe-inspiring. Up until this point, I hadn’t really done a gender reveal photoshoot. I guess you could say “go big or go home” this time as this was a triplet gender reveal! I received the envelope just 24 hours before the shoot, enough time to allow me to prepare. But in all honesty, I did not look in the envelope until about 2 hours before the shoot. I didn’t want the potential of a ‘slip up’ and I also felt guilty being the person who knew for “so long” before anyone else- so I didn’t peak 🙂 I can’t describe to you the emotions and how I felt during this shoot. For those of you who hadn’t heard of a Gender Reveal- the parents to be receive the sex of the baby (or in this case, the babies) and are not told during the ultrasound. They then drop off the envelope to me and I coordinate a shoot to reveal to them what their baby (or babies!) are! I am able to capture those first emotions for them to have forever, and of course, a cool way to announce to the world!
BABY A is a …….
So much excitement…so many tears and there are still 2 to go!
The photo on the right makes me smile every time I look at it. Through both of their tears and smiles and laughter (while looking at the ultrasound of the “girl parts”) I hear in a small confused voice “I don’t know what I’m looking at!”
BABY B is a ………
ANOTHER GIRL!!!! Dad’s reaction here was “Oh my! I’ve got 2 daughters! I’m in trouble!”
LAST BOX!!! BABY C is a…….
BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dad got his Boy!!!!!!
Miss M’s mama owns Tout Chic Baby Boutique (if you haven’t, you should check her out on Facebook or at her Etsy shop, http://www.etsy.com/shop/ToutChicBabyBoutique!). I heard of her business when another client of mine came with a gorgeous tutu for her own childs shoot. I loved her work and started purchasing props and items from her. I was very excited when she contacted me to do her daughter’s 1st birthday shoot. When Miss M showed up with her mama and papa, I couldn’t stop staring at her amazing eyes. She looks just like her mama! She has these beautiful big blue eyes and adorable pink, perfect little lips! I don’t know if I’ve ever faked sneezed so much in my life! Her mama made this wonderful smash cake for her to enjoy, but Miss M had other ideas in mind! We laughed when she wanted nothing to do with the “yucky cake” but life was made complete with just a few cheerios!!!
I enjoyed having this sweet peanut over for her shoot and am excited to continue a wonderful business relationship with her mama and her business!!

I photographed my newest nephew when he was just 9 days old. Which gave me lots of extra snuggle time without having to share him! He was very interested in what I was doing and loving his mama’s milk so he didn’t want to sleep too much. Looks like he’s going to be just like his big cousin, my daughter and never want to miss A: whats going on in life and B: a meal! I haven’t quite decided who he looks like, although he certainly has his daddy’s eyelashes! They are insanely long! (A little jealous, I admit it)
I also photographed him growing in the womb every 4 weeks from 18 weeks, with the final shot being when he, himself, was 4 weeks old. I love watching baby bellies grow! Truly is a miracle of life!!
Miss K’s mother not only wanted photos of her sweet new son, but she also scheduled a shoot of her beautiful daughter. Miss K is 12 years old which is slightly older than my last few girls I have photographed! I welcomed a new ‘challenge’ of finding a perfect balance for shots, not too juvenile and yet certainly not too grown up. We had quite a few hysterical laughs as I have now learned a new dance from Miss K! She also had her own ideas to some poses she wanted to do which was great!!!! I think her parents are going to be in trouble as she is such a gorgeous girl!
Although this little guy wanted to make a fashionably late appearance, once he decided he was ready he flew into the world! His big sister has been waiting patiently for 12 years for him to arrive and she is such a sweetheart! She was an amazing assistant for me during his shoot, which allowed mama to sit back and relax for a couple hours. Once Mr L was asleep he was A-SLEEP! What a wonderful teeny beeb!!
I have photographed this little big guy since he was still in the womb! His mom, dad and I have been friends since highschool and I was overjoyed when they contacted me to do their maternity photos and equally (if not more) thrilled when I did his newborn photos. I’ve been watching and photographing this little guy grow throughout his first year and now it all comes down to his first birthday shoot! I have yet to determine just who he looks like more, he seems like a perfect blend of both his mama and his papa. (Although during his shoot, he did make a few very clear “I’m exactly like daddy” faces!
